im 19 years old and i think i have a barrel chest. i have kinda noticed it for a couple years now but it hasnt really been bothering me til within the last year. at first i thought i might have pectus carinatum but my chest is more rounded instead of pointy. i think my barrel chest is somewhat mild no one really notices it everyone just thinks im really skinny. but im tired of trying to cover it up and i wanted to know if theres any exercises i can do to help minimize the appearance. and as of now i dont seem to have any of the symptoms of it such as short breath or lack of energy but could this get worse over time? any help will be appreciated.

  • With your young age you really should see a doc. You could have early signs of scoliosis.

  • expel all the air out of your lungs as can then hold your breath. lean your head all the way back and do sides bends back and fourth real fast. if you're a smoker, this will losen a lot of phlegm from your lungs and help you after time from keeping your lungs at a chronic over inflated state. This really worked for me and just figured it out after trying to figure out why this syndrome started happening to me. hope this helps
