I am an 28 year old male. Mostly healthy, maybe like 20 pounds overweight, and I drink alcohol probably 6 days a week.
For the last few months I have been experiencing a very strange heartbeat. It feels as if my heart is skipping a beat.
When this happens, it feels like my whole heart stops for a split second and I lose my breath. It is often followed by about 30 seconds to 1 minute of dizzyness.
This is happening about 10-20 times per day and is starting to scare me. I have an appointment with my doctor, but not until next week. The last few days, it feels as if these skipped beats are becoming stronger and more frequent. Nothing seems to make them any better or worse. They appear to happen at random times.
I have been doing some research online, but there is so much conflicting information, I was wondering if someone here could shed some light on this and what kinds of things I should ask my doctor next week.
