Scared of the "there's nothing wrong with you" symptoms

For four weeks, I've been having really bad chest pains right above my right breast, and it extends into the top of my right shoulder. I feel this pain the most when I lay down at night or when I turn my body to the right side; it feels as though someone is almost pulling something inside of me.

I went to visit my primary care doctor who told me that it didn't sound like a heart attack to him but he sent me to get a chest x-ray. When the x-rays came back, nothing was found. He told me to contact him if the pain continues over the next month.

I'm 30 years, and I guess I'm really worried because both my grandparents died from heart failure and, my dad had a heart attack a year ago.

I've thought about making an appointment with a Cardiologist but I don't even know if this would do any good.

Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone have any suggestions for me?
