MY PULSE AND HEART BEAT ARE NOT IN RHYTHM WITH EACH OTHER!!! Am I ok?

I checked the carotid pulse against my heart beat... the two were obviously off in rhythm! Heart faster and somewhat weaker than the neck pulse, I'm taking into account that the heart echoes each beat, but this was not even on rhythm. That was earlier, now it will stay in rhythm, and the neck pulse will occasionally be off by a split second every other beat.

Someone please tell me if I should be concerned or if this is normal!

  • I don't think that this is really a problem. If you are having a pulse in your neck, it is because of the pulse in your heart. It could just be that your heart did a little skip when you were checking our carotid and then didn't when you were checking your heart. Shouldn't be anything to worry about :)
