  • I have mitral valve prolapse, not a regurgitation like you, but both my pregnancies were successful. My heart got tired alot, but my kids were beautiful and that was with taking inderal. I did go off of it with my second pregnancy and I wished now I had taken it. Maybe your doctor can best recomend what is the best route for you to go. Maybe they can get you fixed up. I know I tried to keep my weight at a certain level cuz this effects the heart rate. Seemed for me the more weight I put on the harder my heart had to work, but that was just me. I don't know what else to tell you except good luck. I think your doctor can give you the best advise because they know your history better. It's a very good question though.

  • I have a mitral vavle regurgitation as well as transposition of the great vessels and have 3 healthy children! With my pregnancies I did have echo's done on my heart to make sure everything was going ok toward the end of my term, but it was always fine. I never had any problems with my heart during the preg. or during the births. They did want a cardiologist there "just in case", but by my third child, the card. did not even come.....I was born with the transposition of the great vessels of course, but they found out about all of it when I was 10 months old. I was 19 when i had my first child. I guess it all is determined too on how much regurgitation you actually have....I have had to go for checkups every other year since I was a Year old.....so if yours is not more serious than that....You should be able to have children....Just go to a good doctor!Hope this helps some!
