I've been experiencing anxiety, fear of having a heart attack and just general panic recently, it all started a week ago on saturday when I filled up my car with air and cleaned it out, then my left arm started to hurt (bicep area outward). I began to worry as I always do of having a heart attack then the panic attacks started, and I'm still worried despite having an EKG done to determine if I've had an heart attack. I'm 20 years old and worried about my arteries clogging or a clot forming and then I die whenever I feel a pain anywhere in my body. My current cholesterol numbers are 185-total and 41-HDL I forgot my LDL number, I always seem to have these attacks near the holiday's or when finals week is coming upon me then they go away like they have never happened. I'm worried and scared most of the day about having a heart attack is this justified, I have two risk factors I know of that is Obese based on BMI and my farther died of a left ventricular collpase (don't know what it is) when he was 49 but he also was a 2-3 pack a day smoker most of his life and I just don't want to end up like him.

PS.I do not smoke

By the way, your HDL Iis a little low , and too low hdl can cause arteries cloging.

I'm just worried that these things will happen to me soon and I mean for fear that my weight will cause it I've changed my diet radically in the last two weeks (no soda,no juices or teas just water, I used to be a big tea drinker) and have begun eating things with zero to no saturated fat. I'm just worried that I won't make it to January because whenever I start to worry about this it washes over me like a wave and I can't concentrate or do any meaningful work and I'm usually bed bound the entire day until the Prozac kicks in.

Rescue Remedy is fantastic, and really helps when you are having stressful times. I used it all throughout graduate school, and while pregnant with both my kids. I have used it on my pets during thunderstorms and 4th of July. It is extremely safe and very, very effective. Please try this! Also, do you drink so called "energy" drinks, or caffeinated beverages? This can be contributing to your anxiety. Energy drinks are horrible IMO, and very addictive...they are banned in many European countries. Lastly, try acupuncture to help with your symptoms. Acupuncture works. Best wishesDOM
