Help diagnose my son

My son has had three episodes which were thought to be febrile seizures.
They are now looking into other diagnosis. Noone has seen this before that we have talked to. He says he does not feel good and always feels warm like he has a low grade fever. He then falls limp with a blank stare. He has no jerking movements or stiffness. He breaths on his own in the beginning and then stops breathing with no pulse. I have given him CPR and he has started breathing again in 30 seconds to a minute. I am so scared that next time I won't be there or I won't be able to save him. What if he is in a different heart arrythmia? Has anyone heard of these symptoms? I need answers quick. Thank you.

  • Hey, I am so sorry to hear about your son. I would def. look into Cardiovascular problem. Have the doctors run an Echcardiogram on him as well as put him on a vent monitor. This would help to see if there are any abnomalities with his heart. Also, it would allow them to see if he is having any type of strange heart rhythm. It sounds like this could be Bruggada's Syndrome or possibly Long QT syndrome. Both involve the heart. How old is your son? Any more information you can give me? I would love to help you and your family out. I have a background in research. USMxan2@aol.com ~Take Care~

  • i agree. could possibly be cardiac. has he ever had any circulatory problems...blue or pale extremities or around his mouth. did he have any rheumatic fever? it sounds more inflammatory or neurological. have they done at least a chest x-ray? i do old people so i do not have much to give, but i think it would be prudent to have a chest xray taken, they can do a ct (head) and echo (heart) and blood work. my suggestion...take him to a good children's hospital. they can do all the tests and rule out some differential diagnoses. because of the fever i am thinking he has an inflammatory process somewhere...but believe me....i certainly do not have the answer. just keep loving him and take him in to a doc that specializes in little people.
