Hi everyone,

Recently, I’ve experiencing strong heartbeat pounding at the upper back of my body, sometime I could feel my heartbeat on my neck, arms, and head. This strange feeling is usually happen in night time. It is really bothering me now especially when I going to bed. But I do feel perfectly fine during daytime. (I don't know if it is because I'm too tired or too stressful??)

Is there something wrong with my heart??? I haven't not yet gone to a doctor yet, but I do think I am a healthy person, 26 female, no smoking or drinking, and no heart problem in family history.

Does anyone have similar problem?

Does anyone have similar problem?I had something similar- I would go to bed and palpitations and a migraine would rise in the middle of my sleep. My heart would pound hard and fast and my blood pressure dropped a little.I was allergic to my bedding and pajama (polyester) and the laundry detergent used on them- so allergies manifest differently on people- but I thought to let you know.

  • I seem to have the same problem. I feel it all the time, no other symptoms, except the hard pounding. (normal heart rate) I also have not been to a DR yet.If you go before I do, please post the results.Ron

  • I have these same symptoms, i'll wake up in the middle of the night with a very very fast heart rate for no reason and can feel my heart very heavily.Someone told be it could be a "night" panic attack, but I don't really suffer from panic attacks, but she said it's in the second stage of REM where your body is disturbed from sleep and you wake normally but your body is in a state of shock, ie cold sweat increased heart beat, this can last anything up to 3 hours before I find it subsides and I return to sleep.Next time you get the heavy heart beat try not to think about it as if we do it creates a snowball effect that makes us more and more worried, making your body produce for and more adrenalin etcTry and disract yourself, moving rooms often helps and taking your mind away from it i.e reading or doing a puzzle. Avoid tv or the computer as it tends not to take your focus away.Hope you find the answers soon, whatever it may be.

  • Hmmm, mine does not beat fast, just hard.... and does it all the time, day and night. Two things scare me, cancer and heart problems. I would really like to get this problem fixed. Guess I need to see a DR, but I just hate going to see one.

  • Hi everyone, completely new to this forum and researching a diagnosis from a consultant.I was waking during the night, heart pounding, pulse racing. Diagnosis was Super Ventricular Tachycardia aparently very common. The first time this happened i went to casulty (ER) and the doctors thought i was experiencing a common faint? Second time was during the night, pulse was 180 (typical is 60-80) was admitted and had load of tests, diagnosis then was high blood pressure untreated, so i was put on Bisoprolol (beta blocker), for the last few years these episodes have virtulaly disappeared, then a month ago, same thing happened. New diagnosis is SVT.In short, take your pulse over 15 seconds when its happening. The multiply by 4 to give the pulse rate over a minute. If its going so fast you cant count it or if you can and its over 140.. see the doctor immediately. SVT can only be diagnosed by ECG as its happening. Good Luck

  • It seems like everyone has other symptoms along with a pounding heart, except me. No fast heart rate, no dizzy spells .... nothing. Except is does it all the time, 24/7. GRRRRRR ..... I hate going to Doctors.Haven't been to one in over 15 years, except when I had a really bad earache.

  • Those of you waking with the heart palpitations and/or pounding heart beat in the middle of the night might look into sleep apnea. It can cause those symptoms.

  • Those of you waking with the heart palpitations and/or pounding heart beat in the middle of the night might look into sleep apnea. It can cause those symptoms.I don't believe that sleep apnea is a real disease. I had that problem and it went away after removing my polyester bedding and the mold from my environment- I also had to change detergens to plain bakin soda and vinegar. In other words, it was triggered by my immune system response. The person with the sleep apnea should try NAET and get tested for things in the air, food, cytokines, seratonine, etc.Best.
