Hi, My name is April and I am new to the forums here.Heres my story:

My father is 65 plus and a diabetes patient and he also has heart problems. He manages his diabetes very well through diet and he is physically very active.
Recently he had an episode of discomfort in the left side of the chest , he described it as "smoky, kind of burning sensation" and there was a kind of muscle catch from the left shoulder to the elbow. Right now he is doing well. I suggested to him to go to a doctor again as he visited his doc just fairly recently. I have no idea why he is hesitating.

But what is it I am describing or what is happening with him.Is this related to the heart ?Is he having a heart attack.? Or do diabetics with heart conditions are prone to such spells?

I would appreciate your advice , either from people who have experienced this or from health care professionals.

Thank you so much,
