Hi, I'm a 34 yr old female, mom of two young children and one on the way in August. I've had a lump on the right side of my neck more than a week. And I went to my doctor and he put me on Antibotics, however, it's not working. If this doesn't go away, what will my doctor do next? And should I be concerned about this swollen lymph node?

  • No, not yet. Wait for another few weeks...if it's still swollen, hard, unmoveable, then get it checked out. If it's only been swollen for a week you may have a minor infection somewhere and not even know it...and if antibiotics aren't working, that could be from a virus. so finish the antibiotics and wait about 2 or 3 weeks then go visit them again and demand a biopsy. Or if it gets bigger than an inch in the mean time, go have it checked out...and biopsied. If you develop any other symptoms post them here and talk to your doctor too. If I were you I wouldn't worry about it at this point. It could be stress related. Also you could try taking a bath in some epsom salt and take a bristle brush and brush yourself all over to help with flushing around your lymphatic system.
