  • http://www.medcyclopaedia.com/library/topics/volume_v_1/l/lymphadenopathy_mediastinal.aspx My understanding it that its gland involved meaning lymph nodes. Swelling can mean infection or lymphoma and the reason the dr wants to see you in person is to see if your symptoms have changed since the tests. Please dont jump to conclusion until all the test results are in cus this will cause you too much worry. I would get them to do more recent blood cultures on you. Usually they arrange for you to be seen by a specialist ...Ear, Nose and Throat if they cant figure out why you have the symptoms you do. Sometimes they start you on antibiotics to see if its infection. If its lymphoma, they will do a biopsy to test the swelling. Good Luck ...keep us posted As EvErCat

  • I know its very hard especially when you have kids. Kids pick up on our fears and reactions. Cancer doesn't discriminate thats for sure. Thing is, to remain optimistic @ all times no matter what the outcome. Strengthen your immune system by eating healthy and check out different herbs to boost your body. Also, check out all your resources online and get in contact with the cancer society in your area. Its best to have too much information than not enough and also too, if the outcome is good, you have learned something also. If u need to talk, email me @ semi_alert@hotmail.com Good Luck sweets As EvErCat
