For the past week I have had breast pain and a little swelling and hardening in just the left side of my left breast. Not from an injury, just started gradually hurting. I am 22 and in fairly good health. I had a fibroadenoma removed from my right breast when I was 15 and no problems since.
I saw a doctor at the student health center today who said it might be fibrocystic. I'm not sure this is right. I usually don't get breast pain (thanks to BC), I am right in between periods, and I read that it is uncommon for just one breast to be affected (let alone one specific area of one breast). She told me to lay off the caffeine, although I have been drinking the same amount (1 regular travel mug) everyday for the past few years without any previous problems. I don't drink soda, rarely drink tea, and I occasionally have a piece of dark chocolate so those are not likely to be caffeine culprits.
