I have an irregularly shaped breast lump on left breast that i found about a week ago. the skin over the lump was red and warm to touch, now it has turned into a yellowish bruise. The whole right side of my left breast is painful, and lookes "caved in" a little and the lump is easy to feel. It is about 2 inches long total (not round and smooth) and feels hard. No nipple discharge but i have nipple pain. I'm in mid cycle - lump started just after last period. I am not breast feeding, haven't had a baby in 2 years and i'm not pregnant. Does anyone have any idea what this may be, i would like some ideas as i do not have insurance and cannot afford to go to my Dr. unless really necessary :(. Thanks for the help!

  • Do not delay, see a physician to evaluate the breast lump ASAP. I would demand a biopsy with these supicious symptoms.

  • PS. I wrote a book about the proper diagnosis of breast lumps that you may want to look at called Breast Lump What Lies Beneath by Robin Gray RN, which is an aid to help women get the right diagnosis. You may view it online at Amazon.com.
