Breast cyst

About ten years ago I had a breast reduction. I was left with a lump on my right breast, just beneath the surface at the edge of the aereole. I went to see a Dr and he said it was a cyst. Up until now it has been fine. I have just got out of the shower and the skin all around it is red and it is tender to touch. It also seems a bit bigger. Do cysts grow? I cannot get to the Drs until Monday and would appreciate some help with this.

  • I went to see an out of hours dr last night and he said it was an infection and gave me some antibiotics. He also told me to go to my drs monday as I have two lumps in either breast. That has made me feel so much better. :(

  • Does anyone bother to answer posts on here? The antibiotics I was given for the infection are not working. Indeed the area of infection is spreading. What happens next? Will this mean I have to cancel my ivf which is meant to start in two weeks? Does anyone even care?

  • Have been to the breast clinic. He changed my antibiotics, am now on Flucloxacillin. I would not let him aspirate my breast. All I wanted was him to drain the bloody thing. I have to go back in two weeks. Tonight the lump formed a head and pus has been coming out for hours now. The rest of my breast is bright red and is now starting to swell. The skin also looks dimpled and full of holes. I am writing this in the vain hope someone who knows what is happening will answer this post. Two weeks is a long time to wait.
