im 34yrs and went to breast clinic over a week ago. I had a mammogram followed by an ultrasound scan. Nurse told me she had found a mass and something suspcious under my nipple both on my left breast. She took 7 biopys samples, 5 from my breast and 2 from the side just under my armpit. Have to wait 2 weeks for results. I had this all done on Wednesday of last week, the friday to the Monday was bank holiday weekend, so path lab was closed. I went to see my doctor on Tuesday of this week as ive got a lot of pain in left side of my neck, jaw and also have a lump above collar bone. Doctor gave me co-cordamol for pain, which made me sick and dizzy. He said he couldnt nothing else for pain until he gets my biopsy results and he wasnt that intrested in the lump. I rang breast clinic on Friday the secartary told me that my results not back yet, doctors still dicussing me and my results. Is that a good sign? The waiting is terrible feels more like months than weeks. If anyone can help with my problems i would be very grateful..

  • I wish I could be of some help, but all I can do is let you know that I really do feel for you. The waiting is awful, and it is so easy to let that inner voice scare you silly. You say they have found something suspicious, but do you have any sypmtoms? Nipple changes and so on? I will keep you in my prayers sweetheart! Kiera

  • Shelly, did you get your results back yet? We're here to give you the support if you should need it.I know what you're going through regarding the waiting period.waiting is the hardest and especially when it pertains to a potential diagnosis of possible breast cancer.who WOULDN'T be anxious???I think that no matter if it's benign or a malignancy, the fact that someone has to go through the stages of first being told the radiologist sees something abnormal on the mammogram or what ever type of imaging is used, then having to wait to have an ultra sound as the next step, then having to wait to see if the ultra sound is matching up with what the mammogram or MRI found. If it doens't match up, then no biopsy.then the person worries even MORE!the fact that you're told that they see an abnormality is enough to make your adrenaline run for a WEEK! then if they tell you that you DON'T need the biopsy after all, would make me wonder if they're making a mistake or not.but you were told you needed the biopsy and now's the time you need to focus more than ever on having patience. try to keep your mind busy with reading a novel, or doing a hobby if you have one. taking long walks outdoors, gardening, baking a delicious goodie, etc.I KNOW it's difficult to wait for the unknown. even knowing that 80% of biopsies wind up being benign doesnt' make me feel any better, because what if we're the ones that make up the rest of the percentage that are a malignancy???most dont' like to talk about it. but it's good to get it out.we can make ourselves sick with worry and you dont' want to become ill.I'm hoping you would have recieved your results by now.hope you get this reply.we're here for you all the way.sincerely,LInda
