My mom recently passed due to complications from cancer....Two week prior to her passing she awoke and got out of bed by herself. She had in the past year or so needed assistance in moving from place to place usually from my brother who cared for her. She didn't touch her walker which was in reach of her bed and somehow got to the end of her bed and fell and hit her head on a sharp object and required only 3 stiches. after being evaluated at the hospital they learned she was very low on blood and hemoraging from an ulcer they had found or from blood vessels. During her 9 day stay in the hospital, five of the days she received 10 units of blood. Her speech was slow and we could hardly understand her. She could use her arms some but not to feed herself. She was foggy in her thinking and later did not remember my dad passing 14 years ago. The hospice said going back in time was because of cancer, we accepted that, but her speach and hand eye corrodination we question that it could have been a mini stroke. What are your thoughts.....Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
