Symptomatology after Severe Viral Meningitis

Since fighting (and finally WINNING! :D ) a bout with V.M., I have never really fully regained my strength, and have in the three years since then developed a very severe, BURNING (like lit matchsticks inserted between my skull and my brain) headaches...always present, to some degree; often severe in intensity. Nothing med-wise touches this, and ice is helpful until it melts. My doctor told me that I sustained meningeal brain damage, due in part to the high fever I had. Does anyone out there share this story???

  • Hi Jenna,I had Viral Meningitis earlier this year, back in April. I have not had severe headaches like that since then, but I have had a lot of weird things happening with my body since then! One side will feel weaker than the other sometimes; problems with my eyes and one of my ears (the same ear on the same side that feels weaker). Weird stuff! Sorry to hear about your headaches--I hope they get better soon!
