Hi
First thing that struck me about this site - why are so many people still living without a decent answer from their GP? It's so unfair..
I'm hoping someone can help me here. I have been diagnosed with sleep paralysis, ME, Migraine and Epilepsy (well half diagnosed but that's as good as it gets!) I know there are people a lot worse off than us who don't have adequate health care, but I just want to get better here!!
Rant over... back to my symptoms and a possible answer from someone out there - please :)

Once a month (you guessed it - period time) I get migraines, spots, bloated, severe PMS - the I want to rip someone's head off variety. I wake up in the morning aftter suffering hallucinations and tingling down one side of my body, I go to get up and feel as though all of my energy has been sucked out of my body. I get migraine with aura, without aura, severe vomiting, paralysis and full on hallucinations. I also get leg twitching and loss of awareness. All of this stopped when I took Tegretol (300 at night and 100 in the morning). I've come off it now and everything has come back. Please can someone offer some advice - my GP is useless... I don't want to go back on Tegretol it turned me into a zombie and Topiramate made my periods come back and therefore exacerbated all other symptoms. Does anyone know how to stop periods???

p.s. does anyone know what ill defined bilateral sharpened waves mean on your EEG?

  • I am on the depo shot, I do not get my periods. Its the only way I wont get chronic UTIs. It varies for people, not everyone stops getting their periods. I did. Most people do. Some people gain weight, some people get mood swings, I have noticed most of this stuff goes away after a couple months and the weight gain eventually comes off. Its all hormones.
