i am wondering if anyone knows of a support group for people who have been diagnosed with acute dissmeninated encephalomyelitis.
if so i would dearly love to hear other people have achieved goals and advanced in their recovery. thanks look forward to hearing from you

  • Hello Rach,I saw your post on ADEM and wanted you to know I too am a survivor. Mine was caused from an abscessed tooth that developed into a brain abscess then to EM after being left untreated for years. You and I were very lucky to have survived as I have never found/spoken to another survivor. I am now considered to be a partial quadriplegic as a result but can walk with a cane albeit with my eyes always on the gtound trying to remain balanced. I have alot of info.josh

  • Hi Rach:My son was just diagnosed with ADEM on Sunday. He is undergoing treatment and I was wondering how you are progressing with your recovery. He is 10 and is quite afraid. Like you, I would like to put him/us into contact with someone who has gone through the same thing. He had a headache a week ago and now he is paralyzed from the waist down and blind in one eye. Tell us your story. Looking forward to hearing from you.Sally
