About two years ago, I began having trouble comprehending complex ideas. I was reading a Wired article about Einstein and even though the article dumbed down his concepts, I had trouble fully grasping them.
Shortly after that, I was with my brother who was playing guitar hero and he said "I think that song is too ridiculous for me." I could not understand what the word ridiculous meant. I had to think about it for several minutes and eventually came up with a visual representation of what "ridiculous" meant in that context.
Over the past two years, the loss of meaning of words has continued and the only way I can comprehend them is through visualizing. For example, I recently lost the ability to understand "not". To understand "not" doing something, I have to visualize "doing" something and then visualize sitting around doing nothing to represent "not" doing something.
I also have been increasingly tired and have had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I wake up with a lot of anxiety and sometimes in the morning I will wake up feeling almost brain dead.
I have had blood tests (they did not cover everything) that came back normal and a ct scan that came back normal. I also have a burning sensation in my face and ears.
