I am suffering with chiari malformation type 1. I am from pa and only 34 yrs old .I think it has been atleast 8 yrs ago this started. I knew something was wrong when I had an epideral for my son. I was sick instantly and couldn't stand up straight for almost 2 months I crawled on my hands and knees the pressure was so severe I thought my head was gonna explode. I couldn't even feed my son my husband had to care for him as a newborn til 5 months .The burning in my neck is all day long as well as headaches. here I still am 8 yrs later still suffering 1 doc said no big deal but a neorsurgeon want me to have a major surgery.which I'm terrified don't know if surgery is good or not do to other complecations. I feel like I'm going no where and dealing with the pain and numbness is drivin me crazy and tryin to go to work everyday. I have to children to take care of and there activities that leave me drowned at the end of the day. what can I do?Along with all the other side effects that comes with this I can't see how this is not a major problem in any doctors eyes . THIS IS TORTURE.

THIS IS TORTURE.The only cure for this is surgery. It is a "big deal" part of your brain is stuck in your spinal column, and that causes pain because it is being squeezed. If it was my choice, I would have the surgery. From my understanding it is 95% successful, if the surgeon is good(ask him how many he has done and what the success rate is for him).
