carpopedal spasm can occur in patient at age 12y with meningitis ?

Yesterday cames to hospital patient female 12y old she C/F fever ,diarrhoea, vomiting, photophobia, with carpopedal spasm. O/E was stable febrile 39° not tachypnic not distressed , no meninges irritation, , LP done but failed, ophthalmic was no papillidema with normal fundus, WE 15 , mainly neutrophil , HGB 13, CRP 29 ( normal less than 5) , blood pressure 90/60, calsium and phosphors was within normal,
please for your opinion.
