My 8 month old son was diagnosed with cerebral atrophy when he was five months old. We took him to the doctor because he was not holding his neck, fixing his vision on anything and was not responding to noises even after 5 months. He definitely is having serious developmental delays. The pregnancy and the delivery was normal barring a cold which my wife got in the 5th month of pregnancy.
We did STORCH test and toxoplasma IgG and CMV IgG were found positive. Genetic and metabolic tests were normal. BERA, VEP, EEG were also normal. But a delayed myelin formation was detected. MRI showed atrophy and it was not focal. CT scan also confirmed the same.
What are the best treatment options available? How should me and my wife prepare to bring him up? Any advise or help would be highly appreciated.
