Hi, I'm currently 18 years old and I participate in Track & Field. I run mainly distance events. Throughout the year I was averaging around 40 miles a week I'd say. About 4 and a half weeks ago I increased to about 50 miles and my pace had increased in speed. After a long run of 11 miles that week I began to feel a little bit of pain in my lower thigh. I figured I was just soar and I was tearing and rebuilding muscles like usual so I took proper precausion and iced several times a day for some few days. I noticed the pain had not gone away and I still have it almost 5 weeks later. I recently got tests last week (X-ray, MRI, CT scan, and also saw an orthapaedic today) the tests have shown nothing clear!! This frustrates me because I have taken time off running and used bikes and elypticals to try and keep up! Radiologists and other doctors have had multiple ideas of what the pain is. It now is all around my thigh, somewhat hard to describe (if you lift your leg up and you see the muscle in the center rise, the pain is all AROUND that, not on it, and now my IT ban is slightly painful) The orthopaedic I saw today believes it is osteoid osteoma, or else a stress fracture. What the heck? WHAT IS IT?! any ideas???
BY THE WAY, I HAVE NO NIGHT PAINS.
