I have a problem with weak bones but it doesn't seem to be rickets or osteomalacia and I can't seem to find what it is. It started out with the smaller, weaker bones in the fingers, where the bone connectors allowed them to bend(sorry I don't know the technical term),then it hit a rib or two a little. I figured that it was all the pop I was drinking and my not drinking milk & eating healthy so I changed my diet and that stopped it for awhile. Then I went off the wagon & drank about 9 cans of pop a day for 10 days and it got really, really bad.
Anyway,I haven't been able to stop the weakness and the bending of the bones since. They are weak and flexible and the greatest danger lies in the bones that I put the most pressure on for the most amount of time.

The pelvic area and buttocks are especially bent, due to this condition! The doctors I've seen know nothing. Does anyone have any idea?

Thank you very,very much!

  • How old are you? I suggest seeing a orthopedic they are specialists in reguards to bones and try to get a bone density scan done. If your doctors wont send you to a specialist INSIST on this cause this is a serious issue and needs to be checked out by a PROFESSIONAL. Im guessing maybe Osteoporosis, a bone density scan would rule that out or rule it as a cause. Id seriously try and get a density scan and if it shows nothing insist and demand to see a orthopedic doctor.I have a problem with weak bones but it doesn't seem to be rickets or osteomalacia and I can't seem to find what it is. • Thank you Pixie.I've had x-rays done and an MRI so far and I was told that my bones in the x-rays looked healthy and I didn't have osteoporosis. My symptoms apply to plastic bones but I can't figure out how or why that would be. I'm a 38 year old guy so it's weird that this would happen to me,except that I ate really, really unhealthy for years and was depressed to the point of wanting to commit suicide. Anyway,I'm going to have a bone density scan tomorrow and hopefully everything will go well.Oh,I also may have forgotten to mention that the fingers got bent at the joints but they never hurt. A doctor said it was arthritis but I wonder why they never hurt except for a few seconds when they bent.
