Yesterday I had an intermittant sharp pain in my right leg about three inches below my knee cap. It was sharp enought to make me jump when it hit. The spot was not sore or injured in any way. It felt like the pain was coming from inside the bone. Today no pain. Any ideas? Thanks Rylan

  • Thanks for the reply...it's good to know that the sympton that i have is not uncommon. For your info, I went to see orthopedic yesterday, did the x-ray, blood and urine test. Guess what, doctor said my uric acid level is 6.3, thus above the normal level of 6.0. So he blamed gout as the cause for the pain. However, I am still not 100% convinced. Anyway, will try out the drugs prescribed to me and see the doctor in two weeks' time. Have you seen doctor yet?Cheers,

  • My friend was in a car accident 10 yrs. ago and his femur was broken in one place somewhere in the middle. They put in a stainless steel or titanium rod and it does act up every now and then. The rod seams to reseat itself slightly during unusual exercise,or position and we belief that the rod irritates adjacent nerves that can give pain directly related to that spot or create a pain that seems to be in a phantom spot different to the point of irritation that brings about the noted pain. IB profin seems to help for me but sometimes not enough. After about 4-6 weeks the rod usually settles back in with buffer material secreted by the body to restore a more comfortable state.
