In some ways this seems minor, but I always hear about how minor things can signal bigger problems, so it seemed like I should check to see if anyone has any input on this:
I was sitting at my computer, typing, nothing around to hit my arm on, when suddenly I had pain in my forearm kind of like a knot (though I've only ever had knots in my calves or feet) - but not QUITE that intense (still hurt), and was able to watch as a bruise seemed to blossom on my arm (about 1/3 of the way from my wrist to my elbow, definitely past where my arm would bump or rest on the computer desk, etc). The area swelled up somewhat, it was visually swollen and easy to feel. The bruise is fairly sensitive and uncomfortable, though now its just an ache.
Since I was pretty much settled in for the evening, I hadn't gotten up for over an hour before the bruise, so I can say pretty certainly that I didn't bump my arm - and the sudden pain was while my arm wasn't in contact with anything. All I can think of is that something internally happened - I do have occasional problems with carpal tunnel, but I've never heard of it affecting the arm in this way. Does anyone out there have any ideas, or anything they think I should be concerned about? Thanks!
