Hi. My almost 4 yr old son has had swollen lymph nodes all over his body for over 9 months. He also has iron deficiency anemia (his last iron count was 36, normal is supposed to be in the 60s), low hemoglobin (not drastically low, just barely under normal), chronic leg pain, and is often lethargic and moody. We have been referred to a pediatric hematology/oncology specialist, but we are not getting any answers! They continue to tell us "wait and see". We've been waiting almost a year, and I'm worried that they could be delaying a diagnosis of leukemia or lymphoma. They do not want to do a biopsy because he is so small. I don't know if I should insist, because the "wait and see" is driving me crazy. Can anyone tell me if they have had similar situations, and how they have turned out? I really don't know if I'm worrying over nothing, but I would really like to know more.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
