Im 16 and have swollen lymph nodes under my jaw, in my neck, armpits and groin. I contracted chlamydia 7months ago I got it treated around 3 weeks or a month after i got infected from unprotected sex. That worries me, HIV was the first and most scariest thing that came to my mind, I got blood drawn the other day my test results come in tomorrow. I hope it has nothing to do with HIV. I have so much lymph nodes in my neck and jaw area all the oral ones are palpable but that doesn't worry me much because I had super bad oral hygiene till a few months ago. I had 4 decaying cavities (some abscessed) for around 4 years. Started taking ampicillin for infection and got 2 of the decayed teeth removed. Still have 2 more rotten teeth and underlying infections. The ones in my armpits and my groin are the ones that worry me. I haven't experienced much symptoms besides massive stress of thinking i am infected with HIV. I have had 1 or 2 fevers in the whole 7 months since I was exposed to chlamydia. I was treated for that with Zithromax but am still worried what else could've infected me and causing my swollen lymph nodes. My lymph nodes don't really hurt. My groin nodes are palpable but not bigger than 1cm, dont hurt or anything just can feel them. Armpit ones, I have to dig in for and I can feel a few 1cm pea sized lumps. Ones in the neck are pretty small too. The big ones are the ones under my jaw and 1 in my throat probably because of my teeth. Yesterday I was reading a little bit about CMV Cytomegalovirus and thought I had diagnosed myself. Although I plan on getting a CMV test next week, after I get my HIV results I am just thinking of other things it could be besides HIV. CMV is really common, mostly causes NO symptoms at all except swollen nodes and never really goes away. My question is
Can CMV cause swollen nodes in groin and armpit? I heard about the neck but havent heard anything about groin and pits.
If I had CMV could my nodes be enlarged long term because of this with no major risks?
Do you think I could have CMV instead HIV? HIV is pushing it a little to far but everything is possible and it is better to be safe than sorry.
