I was wondering if anyone knows if an adolescent child can run a low WBC and it be normal for them? 15 months ago, my son's WBC was 3.9. It was rechecked 3 months later and was 4.2.
His doctor moved. We went this week for a check up with a new doctor and I explained that his previous doctor said when he goes for a check up to check this again. This time it was 3.5. The nurse said that he wasn't worried because he had a history of low WBC. I didn't have the counts from the previous doctor at that time. She said all his other results were normal including his neutrophil count.
His brother had severe joint problems but has outgrown them, as I did in my teen years. He has joint pains at times. Other than that he appears very healthy and doesn't get sick as often as the rest of us.
I would greatly appreciate any information anyone could share on this. Thanks.
I have never posted on anything like this and believe I may have originally posted in the wrong section. Excuse me.
