i was recently scheduled for rotator cuff surgery and it got cancelled because my white cell count is high. At first it was over 19,000, then five days later it was 23,000. i don't have any infections, that i know of anyway, but i have an ingrown toenail that is just now starting to bother me. could the steriod shots cause the cell count to go up? it's been two weeks now for the shots. should i be worried about this? my doc wants to check again in two weeks, i don't want to wait that long. am i freaking out for nothing?
