I am currently 31 and starting at age 26 I began having blood clots. They are always in my arms but various veins and some superficial- at times they develop even on blood thinners such as Lovenox and Coumadin. I often have to take Keflex when occurs s/t thrombophlebitis- have been to 4 hematologist and all blood work normal- no recognized disorders such as Lupus DNA etc. Multi CAT scans to look for Cancer but no findings or common symptoms of such as wt. loss- no birth control pills. Any ideas?
Additional Dx is mild hypertension-well controlled, ruptured disc L5-S1 from prior auto acci with Neuropathy
Weight within ideal body weight- meds Coumadin, Norvasc, Lyrica, Norco, Soma

  • Have you been tested for Protine S and C diffeciency? I throw clots, 3 PEs in 2 years and several superficial clots as well. I threw one PE while on coumadin. I have the s diffency, I would seek a hematologist if you have not done so. The test is a simple blood draw. Do your drs know where the clots come from? Mine can not find any evidence of DVT, but it hasnt been ruled out either. Both protines have to do with the clotting factor in the blood. I do not know much about C but S basically tells my blood the only thing to do is form clots. Good luck
