Hi all, I'm a 27 y/o male and around 4 months ago i found a lump in my groin which never went away after 4 weeks. so i went to the doctors who said it was a lymph node and probably nothing to worry about, But sent me for blood tests and and ultra sound. The blood test came back normal and the scan reveled the size to be 4cm x 2.5cm. Now i was revered to haemotology dept at the hospital.
The doctor at the hospital gave me a full check over and had a good feel around at the lump, he contested the scan results and said it was not the size stated on the scan results but because of the lenth of time it had been their he ordered a biopsy.
So when i finally get the biopsy (last week) the surgen has a feel around first and says its very superficial and would only require a local for the sugery.
However 20 mins into the surgery he appologised to me and stated it was much bigger and deeper than he had anticipated.
When it was out i asked to see it and it was indeed approx 4cm x 2.5cm in size. The surgen still maintained that it didn't look like anything nasty and i am now awaiting the results.
Trouble is i'm going out of my mind with worry, everything i have read on the net (bad move i know) suggests that these things only become enlarged if you have a infection, other wise its bad news. I have not read one case where they have become enlarged no reason what so ever So im kinda hoping that someone here will set me straight and enlighten me to such cases.
Thanks for reading.
