I got a upper back pain on right hand side end of 2005 so bad now unable to work and need pain killers to sleep. had scans, x-rays,chiro,blood tests all leading to nothing except found out i have diabetes 2. yet don't fit profile of a diabetes 2 as 45yrs exercise daily, 80kilos with muscle definition and having heaps of problems even with tablets to get sugar count down. it is like the nervous system leading of my spine is inflamed with a very sharp pain. some days the pain radiates right around my torso to the front. rubbing of clothes also enjoy it yet so signs on skin. all suggestion welcome Ben

  • Take an X-ray of your pelvis. Are the iliac bones aligned? If pelvis is misaligned it is twisted. That causes muscular inbalance affecting muscular stiffnes even in shoulder and neck area... And that twisted pelvis causes subluxations to spine (lumbar, thorax and cervical) and that can cause damage to neural system and result can be diabetes or something else which origin medicine world does not know...

  • thank you for reply. Hip is out from accident 20 yrs ago use to get pain at night if did hard labor during day but have not had problem for 10 yrs.i thought it could be pancetitis related but blood tests said that is ok. had x-rays 6mths ago then some more a mth ago in that time i have crushed several somethings in my spine.Yet dont recall any accidents or any heavy lifting or any pain in spine. had bone density test but had strong spine bones for age. though hip bones were rated at 92% for age. 45yrs.doc thinks it is ulcers but i cant find any info relating to right hand upper back pain to ulsers? plus this pain is into its 9th month! desperate to fix as going loopy at home not working

  • You say that you have had x-rays does that include MRI. 3 yrs ago when I was 45yrs old I started to have pain in left wrist & shoulder, I was diagnosed with & treated by my GP with "Frozen Shoulder" & "Carpel Tunnel Syndrome". I was treated for these problems for a year until my GP decided that he needed a second opinion, so I was referred to a Rheumatologist, he in turn sent me for a normal x-ray, he wasn't satified with that so he then sent me for an MRI scan. When the results came back he then told me that I had been wrongly diagnosed, & that I had in fact got "2 Prolapsed Cervical Discs". I was then referred to a Neuro Surgeon who wasted no time in admitting me into hospital & removed 1 of the discs. I am now awaiting surgery to remove the other 1, as 2 weeks ago I had another MRI scan & the results should be about ready.

  • Do you sleep on your side? Specifically your right side? Try sleeping flat and strengthening the muscles in your neck through rehab

  • You said you crushed several somethings in your spine, if i were you i would find out what they are, and where they are, could they be near your pain, i am guessing they are disks if this is so then this could be serious, you do not have to have suffered trauma, or done any heavy lifting for this to occur. I don't know why your doctor thinks you have ulcers maybe he knows something.

  • What do you do for a living? As I get pain in that area now and again and is down to me working at a computer all day. I sit with bad posture and always use my right hand on the mouse so it starts giving me pain in the back around my shoulder blade and underneath.I simply correct my posture and use my left hand for a day to give my right hand side muscles a rest and it seems to sort it out.The same thing happened to my mum who has been a secretary for over 30 years.
