lower back tightness when running

I'm a 24 year old male and experience serious lower back tightness when running. I can barely run more than 5 minutes even after stretching before working out and my back gets so tight that I almost can barely walk. The tightness usually subsides in a about 10 minutes or so and only bothers me when running. I lift weights and exercise regularly but still cant narrow down this lower back issue. I can ride a bike and do eliptical machines with no problem even walk stairs but cant run for a long period of time. I have been to a Chiropractor (who I believe is ripping me off) and was told I have a compressed disc in my lower back and a slight pelvis misalignment but after leaving him I feel my back hurts in other areas and I feel there is no improvement. This issue has bothered me for almost 6 years and has progressively gotten worse. Someone please help!

  • Stop running until you get your back problem resolved! Everyone I've talked to says that running is VERY ******n your spine. Some people I've talked to have had to completely give up running because of the pain it caused in their back. Stick to other aerobic exercises until you get resolution on your back problem. You're only 24 so you have a good chance at getting whatever problem you have completely resolved and healed. Get another opinion from someone other than a chiropractor.
