Hi,

I am new here and just registered this morning so that I am able to post on here.

Unfortunately, the reason I ended up here is because of the intense lower back, just about the very end of my spine, pain I am having.

In the beginning, this pain was intermittent, and infrequent...but, still intense when it occured. This began approximately a year and a half ago.

I have taken ibuprofen alot to be able to tolerate this pain, and, thought that maybe it would disappear but that has not been the case. Also, when this first began and it would happen once in awhile, I literally was unable to stand up straight...and, the strangest thing...I still cannot stand up completely straight and cough, that hurts much too much.

Let's see, a couple things here...I do have a few other health issues, but, I didn't think that they were related in any way...reactive hypoglycemia and acid reflux disease.

I don't know whether this is relevant at all, but, my mom has a bone disease called "ostopenia"...I think that is the correct spelling.

Also, I am a smoker too.

Thank you for any input you may have regarding this health issue. :)

  • Have you been to the doctor? If the pain has persisted this long you should focus on diagnosing the problem. Ask your doctor about getting X-rays, bone scan, MRI, cat scan, and some blood work. Also see about some sort of therapy and stronger medication. Hope it gets better!

As of yet, I did see my doctor but did not even have a chance to bring this up about the intense lower back pain because we were focusing on an infection at the time (uti and ear infection). Also, unfortunately at the moment I do not have health insurance...my husband and I both work, but are ineligible for certain government programs. He could get insurance but it may take too much, as he does not really require it.Hope this helps to answer your question.
