I have acute pain in the Cervical, Thoracic and Lumber region. It's been diagnosed as AS. Currently taking Prednisone 50mg. Vit D was also not detectable in the test. So taking Ostelin 4000mg per day.

Despite Prednisone and Digesic I am getting pain every day and lost sleep, become iritated, loss of concentration. Getting very nervous now.

Is there a way I can fix my problem?

Thx.. A patient:confused:

  • Hi, What kind of doc are you seeing that has dx'd this condition? Do you have other back problems too?? Like nerves being pinched?? Bone spurs?? Is your spine unstable?? Have you had any epidurals or treatment for pain?? Sorry for all the questions. I have As, SS, and a bunch of other problems, all from the lumbar down. I don't know if epidurals can be given for As , if it would help I mean... Have you tried a pain clinic, or a sports medicine doc.Athletes get some pretty unusual injuries and they might be more up to date, than a doc who has been out of med school a long time . Not to scare you, but long term prednasone use, can cause a lot of problems down the road. It supresses your immune system. Thats why I seek out other treatment options.....Hope you get some help soon.
