This is my second, maybe third flare up in six years and the doctors can't figure it out. Here are my symptoms - burning, weak muscles, headache, fever, dry mouth, night sweats, trouble starting urination, fatigue, pain in eyes, dizziness, chest pain, tingling in left hand, some weight loss. Two years ago my Rheum diagnosed a virus, (that lasted 10 weeks) but now that it's back he doesn't know what to think. Both times my sed rate and CRP are high, but nothing else. ANA is negative. Lyme is negative. My symptoms don't seem to fit one disease. Any thoughts?

  • It is possible that it is mixed connective tissue disease. That can have some strange test results. It sounds like you have alot of the symptoms that I had/have. Incidentally I had really high titers of epstein-barr right before they dxd me. T

  • My most distinctive symptom is the muscle burning with movement. I also show some muscle damage in my blood. My flare is over now and I never got a diagnosis. All tests were negative. They won't call it Fibromyalgia because of the weird stuff in my blood and also because the Prednisone worked for me. Doc says he will send me to Mayo in Jacksonville next time. Msnova74 - Please tell me what your symptoms are.

  • My first symptom was severe leg pain. So severe that I could not walk. The first blood test that popped showed muscle damage. My symptoms come and go and get better and worse. My worst symptoms aremuscle pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, fevers, headaches, easy brusing, IBS, joint stiffness, joint swelling, transient tendonitis, costeo chondritis, and RLS. Prednisone works fairly well for me too. T
