Hi this is my first post.
We live in Australia Queensland inland from the coast.
My Daughter has been diagnosed as having first rheumatoid arthritis, now Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. She had complained since about age 5, she is now 13 we of pain in her knees, it has taken her knees to swell quite badly a few doctors later to do a blood test.
She is taking Plaquenil 1 tablet twice a day. Also she is on a low dose antibiotic for acne that is now thought to be a part of all this.
Also today not so good news. Her asthma seems to not be asthma at all and more to do with this MCTD. So I’m in a panic over this. Read up a bit more, read how the body starts to attack it’s self and feel sick.
So I’m thinking maybe we just need to get healthy eat well and hope things never progress any further
Oh and the medication does seem to give her some relief
We haven’t had a Doctor in town as we live in the out back, for a few weeks over Christmas she went without her medication for a bit over a week and is in a fair bit of pain. At the moment.
Well not really sure why I’m here maybe just some support and insight into all this. I still feel clueless as to what all this means. Family when I tell them anytime just say “oh she’ll be ok” it’s horrible it’s not that I want them to be full of sympathy I just want them to listen and acknowledge that she is in pain and there is something going on. Ahh why cant they just offer their ears and not their mouths.
