I was recently told that I have this condition and am very confused. Just trying to find a place to get some answers about this.
I am 50 y.o. female. I have Lupus, Sjgourens, am diabetic and have autoimmune hepitatis. My doctor told me last Friday that I have hypogammglobulinemia and wants me to IVIG treatment ASAP. Not sure if this treatment is what I need or what I should do at this point.
I have had recurrent sinus infections and bronchitis. I also continuously have skin absessess. I had sinus surgery twice in three months and still have not gotten any better. I have been through allergy testing and no allergies. The ENT also told me that I have extremely low IG antibodies. Now two years later my internal medicine doctor says it is still extremely low. I am on numerous meds for the lupus, autoimmune hepitatis and am on continuous insluin 24/7. Also have enlarged spleen.
Is this a condition that can cause the above problems and is it something that I should be concerned about or just have a wait and see attitude about? Also should I get a second opinion?
