I am having autoimmune symptoms and my doctor appointments have been less than helpful. The first symptoms were when I was 13 years old...disapeared after a year and have returned 9 years later.
The symptoms include:
Hives---worse in the morning, prednisone seems to be the only drug that helps. Treatment includes: Doxepin, allegra, tagamet
Swollen Joints---this seems to occur with the hives but sometimes are isolated as well. The joints most affected are my hands, wrists and ankels.
Tender Skin---hurts even when my clothes are touching it. This has been occuring a couple days a week.
Stomach aches---Terrible heart burn and indigestion, sometimes the antiacids dont help. The pain can keep me up at night
Lastly strange sensations---this is a broad term...and hard to describe.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be great. I am starting to feel like I am crazy. Everybody thinks I am a hypocondriac. I just want to start feeling better.
