aching joints, polymyalgia rheumatica?

My husband has struggled for a year or more with aching all over, especially in the joints, sometimes a low-grade fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, and other general feelings like the flu. Could it be polymyalgia rheumatica?

  • Yes, he has been to the doctor several times over the last couple years when he had these flu-like symptoms, but no real answers. He also has back problems, which does sometimes confuse the issue.

  • Has he been tested for Lyme disease? Have them do the western bott test. The regular test doesn't always show anything.

  • Have they tested him for the gentic marker HLA-B27? It could be ankylosing spondylitis. It affects the back and joints. I have constant back and neck pain because of the disease and I used to be 'sick' all the time because my immune system was busy attacking itself so I would catch anything and everything. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any support.
