Joint Inflamation and stiffness

I'm 45 years old and I have border line hypertension. I take a diurectic (Benicar) to control the hypertension.

for the past two years, i have had gout outbreaks. I constantly have joint inflamation in my hands and ankles/feet. When i have flare ups, colchicine and indometh general relieves the discomfort. I never really seem to be able to keep the inflamation away.

Additionally, if i stand in one position for over 10 minutes ( standing sociallizing or waiting to be seated) I get stiffness in my legs and feet which that sometimes turn into inflation. Has anyone experienced these type of problems and if so, have you had it diagnosed and treated successfully?

In need of a solution...Thanks in advance........

  • You need a blood test from your Doctor to rule out some possibly serious autoimmune diseases. With out being able to run test's on you or talk more with you it could be chronic inflammatory disease, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or a mess of others. Do you have pain in your Chest or ribs?Do you have any other symptoms like nausea, vertigo, Tiredness, depression? Also Get an X-ray of the affected area. If there is no significance, Get an MRI. A lot of things will not show up on an X-ray.Good LuckGregg McClure NREMT-P, CPhT, NC, B.SMgtkd69@yahoo.com
