8 days ago I started feeling a little "off", I guess you could say. I began to notice pain in both my thumbs at the base. By the next day, my pain had spread dramatically to most of my fingers (middle joints), to my feet (mostly the big toe joints and the tops of my feet hurt), to my shoulders and the insides of my legs. As strange as this sounds, the pain hops around somewhat. It has continued in my feet and hands, has lessened in my shoulders, has disappeared from my legs. However, new pain seems to crop up everynight. Now my elbows hurt, especially the right one. My knees make it hard to walk down the stairs. It feels like someone hit it with a hammer, it's very hard to bend. Oh yeah, forgot to mention this one... the first symptom I experienced was, well, top teeth pain. Weird, I know. I have no visible swelling or heat emanating from these painful areas, just pain and limited motion. Saw my PCP on Tuesday and she claims this could be the result of my taking Minocin (an antibiotic). I called my Derm who prescribed it and he said Minocin CAN cause a lupus-like/rheumatoid arthritis-like syndrome, but he was skeptical the medicine is the culprit. He says I would have seen symptoms earlier since I've been taking it for a few weeks. Any thoughts? Anyone had this Minocin experience? I go back to the doctor tomorrow. In the meantime, I am miserable. I am a 40 year old female. Thanks!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
