On June this year I hurt myself picking something up at work. It wasn't particularly heavy but I had immediate and severe pain in my left arm that felt as though the muscle in my forearm was cramping. Long story short, it still hurts with a deep aching pain but also with burning, stinging, itching pain as well that goes to my shoulder. I've had an emg, 2 mris, xrays, and a bone scan. They say the are normal (I'm really struggling to trust my doctors at this point). Did physical therapy for over a month with no change. Have treated with ice, heat, otc pain meds, creams, rest, muscle relaxors, and gabapentin. The gabapentin is the the only thing thats helped but only the burning pain. Nothing touches the deep ache. Ive even had hydrocodone with no significant relief.
No pain in the joints. Pain when i put pressure on my palm (like holding a door), when i grip things or straighten my fingers completely, i cannot straighten my arm completely without intense tightening pain. Even being up and moving to go to the grocery store is enough to increase the pain significantly. It never stops hurting. Its all I can think of.
I've seen 2 general practice docs, a neurologist, an orthopedist, consulted with another, and a pain management doctor. As this has gone on, i feel like they don't believe me thinking that I am faking it or its in my head. One doc suggested fibromyalgia but i dont have symptoms anywhere else. The others aren't sure maybe nerve maybe muscle they say.
