I'm hoping to God that someone here can give me some advice on this.

For the past several years I have suffered from recurring bouts of extreme dizziness, tiredness, weakness in my body, and intense anxiety. I've had so many bizzarre symptoms including: tingling in my head, feeling as if objects are tilted when I look at them, Rapid heart rate that goes on for days, extreme pain in my stomach and back between my shoulder blades. The list just goes on and on. Sometimes the anxiety is so intense that I gag and throw up. I feel out of it most of the time, like I'm existing in a dream. I have also become suicidal because there doesn't seem to be an answer for this.

I've left jobs and lost opportunities because I was unable to function due to this problem. I've been to doctors and had many tests done including: echocardiogram, Upper G.I., A brain CT scan that was done many years ago, EEG, 24 Hour Holter Monitor, Stress tests, you name it. They all come back fine. What I've been wondering is what physical problems can cause anxiety and depression symptoms. I feel like I know my body quite well, and something isn't right. Currently I see a psychiatrist because they've labelled this as a depression/anxiety disorder. Even though it's always the symptoms that come first, and then I get anxious and depressed about it.

Anyways, I'm sorry if this post is a little long-winded. I'm just hoping someone here has had a similar experience or knows of possibilities for what might be going on.

Thanks for all your help.

  • I am going through the same thing...kind of. My symptoms include swelling, pain, dizzy spells passing out and I have had a few seizures since all this started. While physicians seem to find enough "proof" of illness in my tests no to say I am depressed, since the specific tests they run come back negative they say it's some "mental disorder" where my brain is telling my body it's doing these things. Like you, I know my body as well as my state of mind. There are diseases and conditions that can cause feelings of anxiety as well as mood swings. Lupus is one, Thyroid conditions can be another. The thing I have learned is that these are things that are hard to diagnose. Your not alone and don't give up. Track your symptoms, as new one comes make sure to record them. Understand that physicians are scientist.

  • Hello Ohansen,Simply yes and more if not taken into control. This can be caused by a number of things. It is in fact a multi-facilitated (coming from differing directions all at once all compounding it's actions upon the body) complicated dis-ease. The good news is that it is in fact some what easily taken care of. However, it is a long process to re-establish ones health back to being made whole again. Primarily it is caused by shock to the ANS(Autonomic Nervous System) and as such, has moved your ANS into a constant state of Sympathetic Control over your being as a whole. This is in fact what is causing all of these symptoms (they are all related to the ANS-Sympathetic Control SNS and to prostaglandin control PGE1-2-3). This simple assessment can be done by someone who does HRV Heart Rate Variability testing. This test is simple and only 15 mins..http://www.macses.ucsf.edu/Research/Allostatic/notebook/heart.rate.htmlThis is a site that will tell you a small amount about the HRV process, but not its uses in detail. Notice on the bottom of the page about your dis-ease and its associated factors.OK, what after the test says that I am correct in what I am saying, and as such shows that you are in fact in a SNS mode, and that you have a basic current understanding of your problem. Just what is your next step.Basically it is to rebalance your ANS (SNS/PSNS) to cope well with your being as a whole. This however will take some time to recover correctly and to restore your being once again into good health. That being said, ckeck out my other posts on this site for more information on returning your whole being to good health again.Regards,SkyhighnemoPS. I have also included this site from a Russian technolgy, which is currectly gaining great strides in the USA. It is quiet informative as to the understanding of the importance of HRV and the qualifying of the understanding of the importance of SNS/PSNS balance for good health. To better understand the real use of this tool, I would point you to a new site which is still in the makings and under construction..at a later date.
