Hi everyone, im 27 year male. yep, its been itchy since i was 18 i think and never went away. so itchy sometimes i cant even fall asleep. id have to wake up at night just to scratch it and wake up with dried blood on underwear. weird that it only gets itchy at night...
ive been to urologist, dermatologist i dont know what else. no std. no worms. nobody knows. the derma told me to use this hydrocortisone cream and i did. it went away and i was in peace for about 6 months. gradually came back. i noticed it was aggravated when id have alot to drink. so i would use the cream every now and then to control the itch. after some research, i decided to give up the cream coz there were side effects. it made my skin around the area thin. and strangely, i felt unhealthy when i put the cream - like i was gonna catch a cold all the time. so much for the cream. i read somewhere that it had to do with the food you eat. so i tried giving up coffee, alcohol, and then the itch went away for about 5 days. then it came back... so now, i dont know what to do. there must be others with the same problem.

  • You might want to do some research on the web for a condition called Lichen Sclerosus. It can cause similar symptoms to ones you describes. Some foods do aggravate it. There are better treatments than hydrocortisone alone. And the hydrocortisone need to be a highly potent one for it to work.If it sounds familiar you need to find someone who can officially diagnose you. The condition is rare and rarer in men.

  • Hi~ I have had this problem, too. Yeah-- first thing you think of is pin worms. I think it is important to wear cotton underwear and sprinkle a little bit of Goldbond Medicated powder in your underwear before you go to bed. I had itching for a long time and bleeding-- and then it started bleeding when I went to the bathroom and it turned out I had an anal fissure. That is a tear in the intestines and the itching comes from inflamation. Have you had a colonoscopy and a biopsy done? They can see the fissure. It you are constipated a lot... and bleed, too-- get to a Gastroenterologist as soon as you can... and from personal experience, if you have a fissure-- DO NOT LET THEM CUT ON YOU!!! Nine times out of ten, it makes it worse. Good luck. vampyre_girl:o
