I have been having some issues. I have very irregular bowel movements, and lately, I feel like there is always more that needs to come out, but there is nothing. I have talked to my nurse and she told me to drink a bottle of Mag-Citrate. I did this yesterday and had a wonderful night. I thought I may have had a partial obstruction, but there was not even any cramping, just diarrhea for about 10 hours. I have no bleeding either. This morning I felt like there was more there again so I decided to do some investigating. whenever I push or "strain" the wall of the rectum goes down and the feeling that there is more is actually my rectal wall and prostate. I think if I pushed hard enough, I could expel my prostate. my prostate seems normal and I am only 27 years old... Any ideas?

  • You could have a possible prolapse. If you have a habit of straining this could have weakened the muscles in that area, or caused damage to the connective tissue that keeps the anal area inside.Anal sex could also cause damage and weakness (not that I am saying you participate in this) and could cause possible weakness or damage. If your anus is actually coming out you had better go to your GP and get refered to a surgeon. Also, if you have very poor pelvic muscle development this could also cause problems.Do you in anyway have flexible joints of the hands or stretchy skin in areas of you body like face and hand and feet. This would indicate a connective tissue disorder that can also affect internal organs. If you are flexible in the hands I suggest you look into Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome to make sure you dont have vascular type EDS of this connective tissue disorder, as any surgery could and can be life threatening. www.ehlers-danlos.org. • I don't engage in anal sex, however, I can't remember any time in my life when I didn't strain to have a bowel movement.

  • If you have been straining all you life the this would probable answer what is going on. Eventhough you are only 27 this would have put considerable stress on the muscles holding in the anus and now they are unable to do their job properly. Fortunately, as you said, the anus hasn't come out but you can feel something with self examination (and by the way, it is good you self examine, if more people examined themselves more problems would be diagnosed sooner and lives saved. No matter how gross the place might seem; it's life and we must take note of any body changes).Like i stongly advise women to examin their cervix for any changes and so forth. What to do? First, stop the straining. This will be hard as it is habitual and since you anus has partly prolapsed by the sounds of things, you are going to feel the need to go to the toilet.Secondly, I suggest you go to a one on one pilates practitionor as they have fantastic pelvic floor muscle exercises. Tell him or her what has happened. It is best to try this first as the last thing you want is to end up in surgery if not necassary. Hopefully with a few months of reverse strainging, you muscles will pull up the anus and fix the problem. This is going to be a very uncomfortable time for you as feeling something is there all the time is really annoying. I suggest you tighten up the anus muscle when you feel this, it will all help in the long run.If you suffer constipation that seems may have been the original cause of all this, you are going to have to seriously look into your diet. Even if you eat four or five prunes three times a day, or half a glass of prune juice with your meals. Prunes are pretty powerful so moderation at first, till you know what your body can handle. All the bestAgape, searchingsam

  • As well as what was being suggested by seachingsam, I think the majority of the problem actually comes down to your diet and your hydration level. From what I read from below. Certain things I can suggest what you can do:1) Are you an excessive drinker? Drinking alcohol dehydrates your body and hence causes constipation when you have bowel movement. Avoid alcohol to an excessive amount. Wine is "ok" to drink.2) Drink lots of water (Not mixing with anything else) Water is simply one of the best source for cure of most desease as it gives detox effect. I suggest 5 pints a day.3) Drink Grape fruit juice. 1 glass a day will do.4) Eat fibre cereal in the morning, any will do as it is VERY VERY good for bowel movement. The last thing you need to do is NOT to restrain when you have bowel movement. This is very important as it can bring into other problems like Hemorrhoids and blood in stool. Put yourself in good timing in the toilet is important.Good luck!~A~

  • I used to strain as well every now and then and I used to take all different types of laxatives. I've read online though that laxatives may cause damage to your digestive system, so I started looking around for a more natural alternative. A good friend of mine recommended Oxy-Powder and this product is just awesome. I haven't been straining ever since I started taking it. Here's where I ordered it from:ghchealth com

  • Instead of taking laxatives drink honey a few times daily and see the difference. If people here are open to Chinese Medicine, you should check up Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan. Otherwise forget that I ever mention this. If you are desperate enough for a real cure, look in all directions.I search for many years before I found the real solution. Western medical science has no real cure to this problem but invasive surgery. And who really wants it unless one has no other choice with all the unbearable pain and perhaps even loss of bowel movements.WenQing
