I have been suffering with an anal fissure for quite a while now. I finally decided to have the botox injections to heal the fissure. When the surgeon did the procedure he trimmed off a little scar tissure, cartarized the part of the fissure coming out of my rectum and gave me the shots....My problem is that a few days afer this I got constipated and inflamed the area worse than before I had it done. He said if it doesn't get better I will have to have the surgery where they actually cut the spinchter muscle...I will do ANYTHING to avoid this.

I recently purchased some cream off the internet that claims to heal all sorts of skin conditions including fissures. It's made of wheatgrass and it's called DermaWheat. I am wondering if anyone has heard of this or had any luck with it. I haven't used it yet because I'm really leary of false claims made on the internet.

  • Ask your doctor to give you nitroglycerin compounded into topical cream. It healed my fissure in a week. But I had to ASK for it, because my idiot doctor didn't think I'd want to use it, so he didn't offer.

  • Thanks but I already tried the nitro and it helped but it didn't heal it. I am finally healed. I had the botox injections. It took a few weeks but it finally healed. I would definitely recommend it if you ever have problems in the future.

  • Well I had botox injections about 2 months ago and it worked for me. Basically the surgeon gives injections in the rectum and the botox paralyzes the muscles and it relaxes for appox 2-3 months letting the fissure heal. There is constant pressure on your rectal muscles so the botox relaxes the muscles letting it heal.
