I am a 28 y/o female, married, 6 month old child, reside in Louisville, KY.
My only medical conditions are a herniated disc L3-L4, herpetic whitlow in right index, prior history of anxiety attacks, & bulemia.

I got pregnant December 2006 and when I was 6 week I began to feel dizzy, like I drank about 10 beers, too dizzy to drive, i would stumble into walls. And I was utterly exausted. I was sure that i had something wrong with my brain and went to the ER, i was told after minimal inspection that I had sinusitis. I thought this was strange since I had no sinus symptoms. I was given Amox/Clav and sent home. It cleared right up, no fatigue, no dizziness.

This happened again about 3 months later, I was told again it was sinusitis. I was given a Z-pack told I might have allergies, and put on Flonase (it made me really jittery and started to kick in my anxiety attacks that I have had under control for a few years so I quit it) The Z pack cleared the "infection", no fatigue, no dizziness.

I got pregnant again Nov 2007 and on Dec 25th, 2007 I again was suddenly struck with severe fatigue (When I say fatigue I mean completely debilitating, sleep 22 hours wake up and still be so worn out. Cant take care of my child, cant bathe, cant eat, etc) and dizziness to where i feel drunk. I was given Amoxicillin, i took it for 6 days and it didn't help.

On Dec 31 I went to the ER cause i was so dizzy and my vision was starting to blur and I was sure it was my brain! lol I was told again sinusitis. I was given something for the dizziness and Z-pack. It cleared right up.

I flew to NY on Jan 3 and returned a week later. I came down with the same thing on my birthday Jan 15, went to the dr, sinusitis, z-pack.

End of Jan, same thing, z-pack

Feb 12, same thing, z-pack

Feb 24, same thing but gave me Keflex.

Feb 25th I had and appointment with an ENT who said that my nose looked fine, i didnt have the signs of sinusitis, green slime, pus, teeth aches, etc.
He said it's probably allergies. Prescribed me Nasonex. Said that I may need to be on a 3 week round of antibiotics but he doesnt think it's a bacterial sinus infection but ordered a CT scan and will go from there. He also said that the antibiotics I had been given were not the best for sinusitis.

If it's not bacterial why does the antibiotic seem to clear it up for a short while?? I feel a little better within 6-12 hours of taking my first does of antibiotics. But it always comes back within 2 weeks.

I talked to an old friend ont he 25th also and she just left a CT scan - shes suffering from the SAME THING! And had been since September, every 2 weeks she gets what her GP said is a sinus infection but the ENT says no!!

I can not live with this! This fatigue is absurd! I will sleep and sleep for a day and a half and still be so bad!! Any other time, i am very active and always have energy. This fatigue is not pregnany related! The dizziness it bad too. I really dont have any other symptoms that i feel are related. a little congestion, post nasal, had a sinus headace during the last one...thats all.

Please someone help me! lol
All I have seen online with people with the same symptoms that have been suffering for years with no cure or diagnosis!

I use a neti pot and have since december. It doesnt seem to be working!

  • I also had severe fatigue, sinus problems, rashes, itching, headaches, balance problems, many other problems that I thought were unrelated. I tested positive for bacterial infection (borriella). I was given anti-biotics, and felt better. The problems started coming back shortly. Maybe your doctor could order a western blot test? good luck.

  • Me too. I 've had horrible dizziness, fatigue, muscle weakness, memory problems, slurred speech, small motor skills problems. The only test that comes back as out of norm is that my right sinuses are completely blocked with something - although they can't say what exactly. I'm going to have surgery to have it removed. What kind of test was the boriella test - blood to mucus culture?

  • Have you thought of going to a chiropractor? Stress from pregnancy could of caused a pinched nerve. MD's don't always recognize pinched nerve. Would you mind posting a picture of yourself?

  • I was dizzy (felt like a sinus infection) and my legs were very weak. I was exhausted all the time. I knew I was very allergic to molds. I also had a right sinus almost totally closed off. It took me three months to find an ENT who prescribed an anti-fungal medication. I had remembered being into old dusty boxes of books and suddenly became violently ill.Could you have been in contact with mold maybe in your home's carpeting? Do ever feel better when you leave the house? That would tell you the culprit is in your house.

  • Muscle weakness, memory problems can be due to a pinched nerve. As Ashley suggested try to remember what makes you feel better or worse will help find the culprit, as cold or heat. Do you remember the last time you felt well? The sinus problem could just be a symptom of toxins building up and not the cause. Get a second opinion before you have surgery. Surgery can cause problems. Opps just realized this is an old thread!

  • I did have the surgery and I am 90% better. I think my ENT gave me an anti-fungal along with the IV antibiotics and steroids you get profilactically with surgery and that is what made me "so much better than I should have been." I am pretty sure that I was exposed to mold at work at some point the year before I got sick and it's possible that that's what made me sick but we'll never know b/c they weren't able to figure it out before they fixed it. Sorry that isn't much help to the rest of you.DL

  • Glad to hear that the surgery improved your health. I have heard that some whom have nose surgery for sinus problems get worse after surgery.

  • I moved to TX 1 & 1/2 yrs. ago. I've been fighting sinusitis the whole time with the continuous dr. visits & antibiotics. 3 yrs. ago I had sinus surgery (enlarge openings) and have visited ENT's here w/no need for more surgery. My latest is allergy immune shots (I found I'm allergic to many outdoor things) ... don't know if this will work; takes along time (6 mo.) and no guarantee of success. I'm convinced I'm allergic to something, and am considering alternative approaches to this issue .. am open to suggestions. When my head became congested (fat head), I would get the dizziness; Mucinex will help to keep mucus flowing; when head is full and bacteria enters the picture, this is when the infection occurs, I think. I am looking for relief from continuous battle. I recently started taking AlleRx DF30, which seems to help combat allergans, but it is strong and it makes me a bit jumpy. I am open to all suggestions on alleviating the allergies (traditional or not); quality of life is important; I can't imagine going outside w/a mask on indefinitely.:)

  • I have a similar problem now. Since November 2008 having problems with my ears. Have found taking Meclazine helpful for the dizziness. Years ago I had chronic sinus infections. After taking the 2nd bottle of antibiotics I decided to try natural things. Vitamin C, NAC, homeopathics, teas etc. One doctor told me that after you take antibiotic you need to take a lot of Vit A and Vit C. For the antibiotics weaken your immune system. You can find homeopathic remedies, which are taken when you have an attach and dissolve under you tongue, at this link 800homeopathic. They are milk based, thus if you're allergic to milk you can't take them. Then try tinctures, which are strong solutions of herbs, that are applied with a dropper.

  • I find I am sensitive to items like computer. Result is dizziness and neck cramp. In my home I put dimes under microwave, pc and vcr to ground the electricity. On the cell phone I paste a quarter on the back. My sensitivity is probably due injury to my spine from a car wreck. Anyways if the magnetic fields from electric appliance are bothering you just put a few dimes under the item to ground it.

  • I have recurrent sinus infections as the result of an emerging environmental illness - it's even listed as one of the symptoms. Bacteria are 'magnetic'...So what exactly is the illness is it that you are struggling with?

Try making sure you eat balanced meals 5 times a day (smaller meals, but shorter time in between.) I had the same problem. Antihisamines were proscribed and I felt better, but that was because they slow down the metabolism. You need the sugars from complex carbos. Next time you are dizzy suck on a jolly rancher or a sucker. I bet you start feeling better in minutes. Then eat some bread. See doc for HYPOglycemia.

It doesnt seem to be working!Hi there :)Just thought l would give a few suggestions and if you feel like doing a bit of research to see if this may help you out...awesome.... I found that l had Candida, it is a over growth of yeast and it travels throughout the body and causes all kinds of symptoms. I too used to have problems and l did some research and found a couple of really great Web-sites One site is: www.Dr.HuldaClark.com Just put in name in the url address: and her site should come up. She has a lot of awesome info and you may find what you are looking for there.Note to.... that being on any kind of antibiotics will allow the bad bacteria...to grow which then allows the "yeast" to multiply and grow rapidly throughout the body and it becomes out of control and this is called a form of "candida" Yeast is a good thing only if it is in a very small amount because our bodies originally have this bacteria in us. When it takes over and multiplies then we are asking for trouble. Many different symptoms originate from this so called candida yeast over growth. Candida can be controlled and eventually it can be put back into balance over a period of time, if you decide to take control and not have the yeast take control of you. Thank goodness. Note....also try looking up symptoms from parasites  on both these two web-sites or what are these symptoms caused from? results are awesome and you may find the answers to your questions. Note.. A toxic bowel is a very, very bad thing to have and l mean very bad. But on the other hand if you have a non toxic bowel you will most likely have a clean bill of health because it is where a lot of your sickness can start up. Do the research "SEEK AND YEAH SHALL FIND" After taking and doing what was asked of me l found myself no longer feeling the way l was feeling. "Sick sick and sicker". l am feeling great and l am no longer suffering from the aliments. Do the research "SEEK AND YEAH SHALL FIND" Other site is: www.avenaoriginals.com This is another great site to do more research for rebuilding the body, so as you start to feeling better. Please let me know your out come to this if you decide to pursue and research these sites. You can e-mail me at timba3ca@yahoo.com...... I hope this will help you. This info can be researched for anyone looking for a natural approach and different alternative way to go. These two sites use only the very best of all natural products and natural ways to help with taking out the impurities and making the body feel better. "SEEK AND YEAH SHALL FIND" God Bless

All I remember is that a canal in the brain had gotten narrowed. The antibiotics affected her circulation.

  • Your symptoms make me think that it's worth being tested for Lyme disease. Unfortunately, the number of doctors who understand Lyme are few and far between, probably more so in KY.The fact that you saw temporary relief when you were on antibiotics also supports this possibility, since Lyme is a bacterial infection caused by a bug bite - usually a tick - and requires a combination of antibiotics to kill it.For more information, and to find a doctor near you, check out www.ilads.orgI am pasting a general list of symptoms for Lyme. Hi, I have a lot of the symptoms you have, and have been trying to get a diagnosis for 2 years now. I feel drunk! Like I've been to the bar, my ears have constant pressure, my speech is slurred, etc., plus most of the symptoms you have listed in your story. I am getting tested for candida, which I am hoping is correct. Dr's have not found anything else wrong with me, even though it is obvious that there is. Good luck, let me know if you find anything out.

End of Jan, same thing, z-packFeb 12, same thing, z-packFeb 24, same thing but gave me Keflex.Feb 25th I had and appointment with an ENT who said that my nose looked fine, i didnt have the signs of sinusitis, green slime, pus, teeth aches, etc.He said it's probably allergies. But it always comes back within 2 weeks.I talked to an old friend ont he 25th also and she just left a CT scan - shes suffering from the SAME THING! And had been since September, every 2 weeks she gets what her GP said is a sinus infection but the ENT says no!!I can not live with this! Please someone help me! lolAll I have seen online with people with the same symptoms that have been suffering for years with no cure or diagnosis!I use a neti pot and have since december. It doesnt seem to be working!Hi, I too have suffered like this for years and 6 weeks ago had a sinus operation to clear this up. 6 weeks down the track I am still terrible, if not worse! My surgeon has just discovered I have a very high allergy to dust mites. I would get this checked if I was you and it's just a simple blood test. Also, get them to check your thyroid, also a blood test. Good Luck!
